Reducing the risk of distracted driving incidents
Frequently Asked Questions
Below are the answers to some of our most asked questions, but if you don’t see what you need, please get in touch!
What do I need to attend the online course?
As with the classroom course, you don't need anything to complete the course but if you like to take notes as you progress please feel free to do so. All the content from the course is available to you to browse or refer to at any time afterwards.
How long do the courses last?
For the classroom courses each session will take no more than two hours. This time includes space for Q&A and the end-of-course test so the actual course content takes closer to an hour to get through.
The online course can be taken at the users discretion and progress is saved so can be done in multiple sessions.
Can I take the course using my phone?
Yes, you can use any device with an internet connection. You can take any of our courses on your mobile device, tablet, laptop or desktop computer. However, most of the sessions have spoken word modules so you will need to be somewhere you can listen to the course content without distractions. If you need a pause the course before completion it will remember where you left off and you can resume when it's more convenient. The short test at the end cannot be paused midway through.
What will I get out of the course?
We hope you will get a better understanding of the dangers of distracted driving which will make you safer on the roads! In addition you will receive a digital certificate of completion for your records. If you are taking the course via your company or business, you may need to request a copy from your HR or organising department.
What about GDPR and Privacy?
We take the privacy and security of all participants very seriously. We follow all current GDPR rules and guidelines and are available to view on our Terms and Conditions pages. If you are taking the course via your company you will be provided with a user login and password that is anonymous, so no personal data will be stored by us. All certificates will be issued to your company with the necessary names in place for distribution by them. For individuals not associated with a company, we only use your details to provide the course complete certification.
Can I retake the course?
Yes! We encourage users and companies to undergo refresher training on a yearly basis. If you wish to go through the course again, your login details will last for one year or at the discretion of your company. The final test at the end of the course is not pass/fail and you will be given hints and information after any wrong answers submitted. Should your company wish to view the scores of the test we can supply them and if any are particularly low they may recommend further training be given.
How many questions are there on the final test?
The final test is only 10 questions and they are multiple choice. After your selection is made your answer will be quantified and explained before moving on to the next question. At the end you will be given a score out of 10 and your company may wish to provide further training or assistance if you fall below their thresholds. This will be discussed with you in advance.
Can you accommodate any special requirements I may have?
If you are an individual wishing to take the course and have any special requirements, please contact us beforehand to tell us what you need and we can make the necessary arrangements.
Is there any distressing content in the course?
The nature of the course means that we discuss and highlight the very serious consequences of distracted driving incidents. Some of the video footage we use could be seen as shocking and distressing, especially if any participants have experienced something similar. We always warn participants in advance of this during both classroom and online sessions. In the classroom setting we offer any participants who feel they may be affected the option of waiting outside the room during the video.
For online participants they will have the option of skipping the video content.
If any participant is affected by the content while watching, they can leave the room and someone will speak to them about any issues they may have and offer support where possible.
If you have any further questions or need clarifications, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
